Silversongs is a boutique music publishing company founded by Patric van Blerk in 1972. Since its launch, it has specialised in producing and distributing music by South African artists.

Over the course of its four-decade-long existence, Silversongs has produced and published several recordings that have enjoyed both commercial and critical success.

“Paradise Road”

Paradise Road was written in 1979 by Patric van Blerk and Fransua Roos. The best-known version of the song was recorded in 1980 by the female vocal group Joy, enjoying an incredible nine weeks in the number one spot on SA’s Top 20 in the year of its release.

“We are Growing”

“We are Growing”, written by Patric van Blerk, Julian Laxton, Margaret Singana and David Pollecut, served as Singana’s comeback single in 1986 after health issues forced her into hiatus. The track was used as the theme song for the TV series, Shaka Zulu and its longevity ever since has earned it a spot in the pantheon of greatest South African hits.

“Charlie”

Silversongs helped well-known South African band Rabbit reach the top of the South African charts in 1976 for the first time with their breakout hit “Charlie”.
